Case Studies

  • Challenge: Fidelity Investments needed to create volunteer opportunities that fit a changing workforce with staggered hybrid schedules while ensuring meaningful impact for nonprofit organizations and communities.
  • Solution: Partnering with Points of Light, Fidelity developed a monthlong initiative, Fidelity Cares Month, which involved customized volunteer projects tailored to local community needs, leveraging Points of Light's Global Network of affiliates and thousands of employee volunteers.
  • Result: In May 2023, Fidelity Cares Month saw 5,100 volunteers participate in 175+ events, contributing over 10,000 volunteer hours, impacting 28 communities, reaching 5,000 students, packing 70,000+ meals, and donating 17,900 diapers, among other achievements.
  • Challenge: Lowe’s aimed to complete 100 local impact projects between July and October 2021 but needed additional support due to the scale and timeframe.
  • Solution: Points of Light helped manage the program by vetting projects, supporting grant recipients, processing grants, and providing training and consulting.
  • Result: The initiative was a success, impacting over 1.3 million people, engaging 1,800 Lowe’s employees as volunteers, and supporting local economies with 1,291 hired vendors.
