Neil Arrington

Daily Point of Light # 5947 Mar 1, 2017

Neil Arrington has been a volunteer at Samaritan Ministries for more 20 years and is estimated to have served 6,315 hours. He is a core member of the Friday soup kitchen team and has always gone above and beyond in his service. Neil always arrives early and stays late to help ensure the lunch shift runs as smoothly as possible. He tackles the most physically exhausting task of cleaning the dishes with ease and pride and without complaint. Throughout the arduous process of moving to a new building, he used his professional experience as a landscape architect to create not only a functional and affordable design, but a beautiful one as well. While negotiating with suppliers he never lost sight of the fact that he was designing the landscape for a non-profit that 80 men call home. Neil is at home landscaping, cleaning the kitchen, and planting flowers and he finishes every task asking “What else can I do?” The pride in his work around Samaritan Ministries is apparent and contagious to those around him.
