Health Care Volunteer Makes Patients a Priority

Ray Gingrich is a dedicated volunteer in the endoscopy department at Inova Alexandria Hospital. His qualifications as a health care volunteer go back over ten years serving the Alexandria community.

He welcomes and trains new volunteers in customer service, clinical support duties and patient safety. He understands that his service is to the individual. Ray makes it his first priority to treat each patient and family member as a member of his own family. His comforting presence, smile and kind manner make what is often a frightening experience a more pleasant one. Ray has shared his organizational skills, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor with patients and staff for close to 12,000 hours of service for Inova.
