Georgia Teen Spearheads Ping Pong Fundraiser
High school student Albert Zhang is passionate about serving others and ping pong. The competitive table tennis player created Student Table Tennis Activists Foundation (STTAF) to address health and educational issues in the community through the common activity of ping pong.
STTAF volunteers have started table tennis clubs at six high schools and other disenfranchised areas in Georgia. In March, Albert’s annual charity tournament, Pong4Change, raised over $2,000 to fund STTAF programs with the help of more than 200 participants. His organization has funded tables and equipment to more than eight community centers around the Atlanta area, including 150 paddles to the Agape Art Center of Atlanta and the Boys and Girls Club.
