Beth Kaback

Daily Point of Light # 5993 May 4, 2017

For more than fifteen years, Beth Kaback has visited Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center to read to its residents from Jan Karon’s New York Times bestselling Mitford series. Beth first began going to the retirement facility to visit with her mother, who she regularly read to from the Mitford books. After her mother passed away, Beth made a commitment to continue visiting the seniors at Swanton, and she arrives every Tuesday to read to a rapt audience.

“[Beth] has such a commitment and deep compassion for our residents,” said Terry Shear, enrichment and activity director for Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center. “She brings a bit of joy to each person, and helps those who can no longer read themselves.”
