Commemorating Juneteenth: A Youth-led Intergenerational Dialogue

On Saturday, June 19, Points of Light and Civics Unplugged led a conversation that celebrated Black history and culture called “Juneteenth: A Youth-led Intergenerational Dialogue.” Attendees learned how they could empower youth to address various facets of systemic oppression and how to take action to create a more just society. Speakers included Zoë Jenkins, founding Civics 2030 steering committee member, Civic Unplugged; Alyssa Rambert, founder, We Stand; Khloe Thompson, founder Khloe Kares and a 2019 recipient of The George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award 2019; Valerie Jarrett, board chair at Civic Nation and president of The Barack Obama Foundation.
