Debra Kirsh, president of the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow in New York, is dedicated to mobilizing others to volunteer. She is the epitome of a selfless volunteer. While serving as a role model for volunteerism in her own community, she helps establish a foundation of service in others by forming service clubs in nearby communities for adults, individuals with special needs, and children.

Kirsh’s primary focus in her community involves service that impacts the lives of children. As a member of the school board, she supported service-learning initiatives in East Meadow public schools. Kirsh’s volunteer efforts began through her local Parent Teacher Association (PTA) more than 12 years ago. She has been an active member of the East Meadow Kiwanis Club for a little over ten years.
