The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network (POLF/VCNN), through the generous support of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), is pleased to offer Building the Beloved Community Grants to Volunteer Center Affiliates (network) and others (non-network) so that we can continue the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 21, 2008. POLF/VCNN proposes to impact disadvantaged youth by engaging them in service and/or engaging volunteers of all ages in service to impact disadvantaged youth by distributing $88,650 to approximately 30 sub-grantees. Award amounts will range from $1,000 to $10,000. In accordance with CNCS requirements, at least 20% of these funds will be available to non-network organizations.

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, August 31, 2007. POLF/VCNN will not accept applications that arrive after the deadline. Notification of the awards is expected to be announced by September 28, 2007.
