"No matter where you come from, we all need to lend a hand." The We Are Family song and DVD highlight the powerful force of volunteering and serves as a call to action for every American. Just as Rodney Jerkins, Brian McKnight, and various other musical wonders of our time have collaborated to raise awareness and help out in response to this tragedy, so too can young people!
Service-learning is a movement that is increasingly prevalent with young people across the nation. Using this model, learning is tied to service, with an emphasis placed on reflection. We Are Family presents an opportunity for service-learning, by integrating the theme of unity with the spirit of collaboration. Whether you are a community based organization, school, faith-based organization, or youth development organization - this DVD and song can be used to facilitate a dialogue about the importance of volunteering and help motivate youth to action.
