About Points of Light

Our mission is the “what,” the Points of Light Civic Circle® is the “how.” The Civic Circle helps people connect to opportunities and understand that doing good comes in many forms. Our Benefits Package

Points of Light proudly offers comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance for employees, spouses/domestic partners and dependent children. Medical benefits include prescription drug coverage.

Full-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) which provides for sick and vacation time, based on length of continuous employment with Points of Light.

  • 0-3 Years Worked | 18 days (accrues at 1.5 days per calendar month)
  • 3+ Years Worked | 24 days (accrues at 2 days per calendar month) 

Points of Light also observes 13.5 holidays and is closed for winter holiday (December 25January 1) 

Points of Light employees are eligible to contribute to a 403(b) as soon as administratively feasible upon hire and their contribution is matched 50% up to 7% of the employee’s eligible compensation.

Full-time employees receive Points of Light-paid basic life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance equals your annual salary up to $150,000. 

Points of Light provides short-term and long-term disability insurance.

  1. Tell me about the most you’ve ever done to obtain information to better understand a customer. What did you do? How did the information improve your service? 
  2. How do you build collaborative relationships with customers? Give me details about one or two of them.

  1. What do you see as the most challenging aspect of a diverse working environment? What steps have you taken to meet this challenge?

  3. How have you handled a situation when a colleague was not accepting of others’ diversity? 
Innovation & Creativity
  1. Tell me about a time when you worked with others to develop new and creative ideas to solve a problem. What was your role? 
  2. Describe how you improved productivity or profitability.  How did you identify these opportunities for improvement? 
  3. Tell me about a time when your standard approach to problem solving didn’t produce the desired solution. What did you do? 
Interpersonal & Communication
  1. Give me an example of a time when you influenced others to do a job in a new and different way 
  2. Tell me about one of the most difficult one-on-one meetings in which you had to gain someone’s agreement with or commitment to an idea or plan. What did you do? 
  3. Once you gain agreement to an idea or plan, how do you ensure that the agreed-upon actions are taken? 
Results
  1. Have you taken any steps to make your job easier/more efficient/more productive? Give me an example.  
  2. Think about a good decision you made recently and one you wish you hadn’t made. Describe the process you followed in making each decision.
