Daily Points of Light for the Nation - 335 through 684

Advocacy and Policy | Download

President Bush recognized the first Daily Point of Light for the Nation on November 22, 1989, in Memphis, Tennessee. He has continued this recognition throughout his Presidency, naming the final Daily Point of Light - number 1,020 - on January 20, 1993.

Although there is no precedent for the White House administering a daily recognition program of any kind, the President has used this story-telling process to define what he meant by the phrase, "Points of Light." Daily Points of Light also have made a critical contribution to the movement's national strategy.
