Scott Lorenz has been the Executive Director of Chicago Cares since fall of 2006. Chicago Cares, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to building a stronger community,
by engaging tens of thousands of volunteers in meaningful and well-structured group volunteer projects and large-scale one-day service events.
Scott had been actively involved with the organization in a variety of roles since 1992, culminating in his election to VP of the Board of Directors. Before joining the Chicago Cares staff, he served as Asst. Vice President for Advancement at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), where he secured major and planned gifts.
Prior to joining LSTC, he was the Operations Manager of JIS Options Corp., a successful local trading company. Scott received a B.A. in Economics from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he served in a number of campus-wide leadership positions. Lorenz has also completed a number of courses at North Park University's School of Business and Nonprofit Management.
Scott lives in Chicago's near north suburbs with his wife and two children.
