Business Strengthening America Releases Business Case for Employee Volunteerism
(Washington, DC—August 1, 2005) Business Strengthening America (BSA), an association that mobilizes businesses to support volunteer service and civic engagement, with support from the Points of Light Foundation, today released a searchable, online database of existing research that demonstrates how employee volunteering benefits the business community.
The Business Case for Employee Volunteerism and Civic Engagement provides numerous resources on topics such as employee volunteer recruitment, skill building, and community partnership cultivation. The Business Case also allows businesses to add effective practices to help others strengthen their volunteer programs and organizations.
BSA commissioned the Points of Light Foundation to help make a compelling and credible case for business volunteering and other community investment programs. The research reports and articles compiled are now available at www.VolunteerResource.org/BSA.
VolunteerResource.org, managed by the Points of Light Foundation in Partnership with J.J. Hill Library, is an online library and bookstore serving volunteers and volunteer managers as a "one-stop shop" for knowledge and research. The Points of Light Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that seeks to engage more people and resources more effectively in volunteer service to help solve serious social problems.
"Business Strengthening America is pleased to deliver the Business Case of annotated research reports and articles that collectively makes a compelling and credible case for business volunteering and other community investment programs," said Meagan Campion, Executive Director of Business Strengthening America.
